Sleeping Josie
My focus for the past ten years has been to guard and protect sleep in my house. Trying to get your little loves to rest can be an enormous struggle. Anxiety about their sleep, and when they will wake next, along with all the other worries that come with motherhood, has created a fundamental shift in my ability to rest. I can no longer sleep for more than a few hours at a time. I wake between five to ten times per night, even when my kids are (mostly) sleeping through it.
This insomnia has led to a collection of photographs and paintings of my loved ones sleeping. It has also turned my brain to mush.
