Emily Flint makes paintings and sculptures about women, nature, and inheritance — work that balances beauty and something a little off-kilter. She is a Lynchburg, Virginia-based artist who has exhibited nationally since 2009.
"I weave the thoughtful and the absurd — meltdowns, midair leaps and wrestling matches, with insects, roadkill, and guts — imagery that can be so dramatic, that I often laugh about it later. Still, there is always something darker clinging to it (the work)."
